Tonight I created 21 search plugins for Alibris. They sell used, new and out-of-print books, music and movies.

Some more search plugins, this time to search the Spanish ISBN database:

Today I open a new category: Mozilla, commited to Mozilla stuff, mostly searchplugins (it’s like Sherlock, you Apple people).

These are some ofthe searchplugins I have created:

Plugins will be here until the Mycroft project includes them in their pages (and this takes a loooong time).

Some time ago I read an article by Ricardo Galli on optimizing KDE packages in Debian. He had also developed a script to automate the process. I found it interesting, although I didn’t take much advantage of it.

Today, in the middle of a Gentoo vs Debian war, I have modified Ricardo’s script to include usage instructions, Debian branch selection and a neat output.

Here it is. Use it at your own risk. I find it more comfortable than apt-src.

Moral of the story: if you want a good Linux, use Debian. You can have optimized packages if you want, and it is easy. If you like to build your system from scratch, don’t resign to the copy (Gentoo): go on with a true ports tree, like the one in FreeBSD.

Yesterday I bought a coconut. Today, after some difficulties (I needed to use the hammer!), I could finally taste it…

Coconut water tastes horrible, it’s sweet and bitter at the same time. Coconut meat is somewhat stiff. Summary: horrible. Won’t ever try again.

In Cast away, Tom Hanks eats and drinks coconuts as mana… I guess coconuts taste better in the movies.
